Fort Worth, TX – MRM #5 team headed out to Texas Motor Speedway early before the other MRM drivers rolled on out here for Monday nights race in the Nastrack Sim Racing Series. Burnett brought the teams Rocky Ridge Custom Trucks Chevrolet SS to compete in the Southern Motorsports Racing League’s Cindasfinds Sprint Cup Gen 6 cars. Coming off a 4th place finish last week at Auto Club Speedway, Burnett was bound and determined to find a win at Texas Motor Speedway. After sitting 2nd in practice he told the team he needed more speed. So speed is what they found him, Burnett went out for Qualifying and set the fastest time of the night with a 27.433 (196.84mph).

When the green flag waved, Burnett hit the go fast pedal and never looked back, securing P1 on the leaderboard, leaving the rest of the field to play catchup. Jump out to a commanding seven second lead over the 23 car field. A couple cautions early would send everyone down pit road for tires and fuel as many were complaining about loose race conditions. A bad pit stop would land Burnett in second as the cars left pit road, however, when the green flag waved once more, Burnett would take the top spot coming out of turn one. Nothing was going to stop the Rocky Ridge #5 machine.

With less than 10 laps to go, Burnett had yet another commanding ten second leaver on second place until a late race caution would fly, sending everyone back down pit road for what would be the last time. Four tires and fuel was the call for the #5 team after seeing that tires were king. One driver, however, decided to take the gamble and only slapping on fresh right sides and beating Burnett off pit road and to the point.

When the green flag waved, the field was bunched up going into turn one. Burnett, not giving up stayed to the outside of the leader coming out of turn two. The two tires didn't work so well for the leader who spun off corner exit and hit the inside wall. This would end the race under caution and give the lead back to Burnett. In take home the the win in his first start with Southern Motorsports Racing League, Burnett would lead 120 of 125 laps of the race. We caught up with the winner after victory lane celebrations.

"The car felt real good tonight,” said Brunett said. "I knew I need to save my tires all race. Once I had a decent lead on the field, I backed my corners up and just ran my race. I knew if I could stay out of trouble I could win this race. We had a couple of close calls with pit strategy, but in the end it all worked out. I have to give a shout out to the MRM team, our partners; Rocky Ridge Custom Trucks, Justin Kern over at The Weekly Racer, Chris Gordon over at Hisrchfeld Marketing Solutions Puro Clean of Anderson, SC and Race Driven Graphics that made this win possible."

This marks the first win for Max Rev Motorsports since partnering up with Max Rev eSports earlier this year. Burnett and all the drivers at MRM would look to sweep Texas Motor Speedway with another win this coming Monday night.
