Spartanburg, SC - With the season opener at Nastrack coming and going in a blink of an eye, Burnett & Kern showed strength early in the race, but the race soon became a disaster which ended both ESR drivers night. Steven Burnett's night would end in a 15th place finish. Justin Kern would hold his own to a 12th place finish. Neither driver was available for comment after the race, But sources tell us that ESR Owner showed his displeasure to the league owners, but like any series, it was swept under the rug.

With the Atlanta cars already built and ready for next weeks race, the crew of the #5 Puro Clean Camaro loaded up earlier and headed out to Hot Lanta to run 85 laps in the CAN-Am Series. Steven Burnett would start 12th out of 37 drivers who took the green flag. By lap 23, Steven Burnett found himself running in the third position chasing the all famous Brendan Queen. Team ESR would work with Queen Motorsports throughout the race in hopes to get a pit strategy together and come out on top. A late caution would bunch the field up one last time. Steven Burnett would start third, but when the green flag waved, he spun the tires and would shuffled back to a 7th place finish. We spoke with Steven after the race. "The car felt great at the start of the race, but after the pit stop, the car fell off real quick. We were hoping that the last caution would help us get the win tonight, but when I spun the tires, I could not get the car to do what I wanted it to. Got to thank the crew for giving me a winning car, I just made a mistake. I would like to thank PuroClean, The Weekly Racer, I Am Second, SRGFX.com, Race Driven Graphics, and Ortec Racing.
